We are a small family farm, not a warehouse. These policies exist so you know exactly what to expect when you order from us, and so we know how to make it right when something goes wrong. If your situation is not covered here, call us — we would rather talk it through than hide behind a rule.
Ordering
- Orders are placed through this site, by phone at 832-723-2299, or through our Facebook page.
- Everything we sell is grown and harvested seasonally. Availability changes week to week, and an item can sell out between the time you add it to your cart and the time you check out.
- If we cannot fill part of your order, we will contact you before we ship and offer a substitute, a partial refund, or a hold until the next harvest — your choice.
- Weights on fresh produce are approximate. A bunch or bag can vary slightly either way; we err on the side of giving you more.
- You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. See our Terms of Use.
Payment
- We accept major credit and debit cards at checkout. Card details are handled by our payment processor — Yoe Ranch never stores your full card number.
- Prices are in U.S. dollars. Sales tax, when it applies, is calculated at checkout.
- Your card is charged when the order is placed. If we cancel or short an item, the refund goes back to the same card.
- Wholesale accounts may be invoiced on terms. See Wholesale.
Our freshness guarantee
Fresh product is cut the morning it leaves the farm and packed with ice. If it reaches you in poor condition, that is our problem to fix, not yours to absorb.
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we will send a replacement on the next shipping day or refund that item in full — whichever you prefer. Do not ship perishable product back to us; we do not want you paying postage on spoiled greens.
This covers produce that arrives spoiled, crushed, wilted beyond use, short of what you ordered, or simply not what was on the packing slip.
Returns and refunds
Because we sell food, most items cannot be restocked or resold once they leave the farm. What that means in practice:
- Fresh produce is not returnable. Quality problems are handled through the freshness guarantee above, not by shipping it back.
- Dried and shelf-stable items may be returned within 14 days of delivery if they are unopened and in original packaging. Contact us first for return instructions; return postage is yours unless the item was wrong or damaged.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days of approval. Shipping charges are refunded only when the fault was ours.
- Undeliverable packages returned to us by the carrier are refunded for the product only, less shipping. See the Shipping Policy for address accuracy.
- Claims made more than 48 hours after delivery for fresh items, or more than 14 days after delivery for shelf-stable items, may not be eligible.
Cancellations and changes
- Reach us before your order is packed and we will change or cancel it for a full refund. Once a fresh order is cut, it cannot be un-cut — at that point we can usually still switch it to a different ship date rather than refund it.
- Address changes are only possible before a shipping label is printed.
- Pickup orders not collected within seven days may be restocked or composted; we will refund the product, less any cost already incurred.
- We may cancel an order ourselves if a crop fails, weather stops a harvest, or we cannot ship fresh product safely to your address. You will be refunded in full and told why.
CSA shares
CSA members pay for a season of boxes in advance and receive whatever is ready that week, which will vary. Shares can be paused or transferred to a friend with notice before the week's box is packed. Unused weeks late in a season may be credited rather than refunded. Full details come with your share agreement — see CSA Program.
Wholesale
Wholesale orders are packed to your specification and are subject to separate minimums, lead times, and payment terms agreed in writing. Quality claims on wholesale deliveries must be raised on the day of delivery. See Wholesale.
Farm visits
Visitors are welcome by arrangement. A working farm has equipment, uneven ground, and animals — please stay with your host, keep children close, and follow whatever we ask you to do on the day.
Changes to these policies
We may update these policies as the farm and the season change. The version posted here at the time you place your order is the one that applies to it.
